Help me play fragments of music on instruments or using technology that responds to movement
Help me to play some fragments that I have heard before, and encourage me to make some up:
- Stick a marker (tactile and visual) on ‘middle C’ on a keyboard and show me where it is
- Show me, hand under hand, how to play simple patterns of three or four notes that start on C
- Help me to use one finger to start with – show me how to find the notes next to each other by touching or looking (or both)
- Then encourage me to use my thumb and other fingers too – use either hand
- Show me how to play the jingles, ringtones and other bursts of melody that I hear around me
- Try playing fragments of music using touchscreen technology
