Play ‘call and response’ games with me using instruments or technology that responds to movement
Transfer the ‘call and response’ phrases onto instruments:
- Try doing short rhythms first, clapping, tapping and slapping
- Next transfer the short rhythmic bursts to percussion instruments or other soundmakers
- Try doing the same activity with melody instruments …
- Send three or four note phrases to and fro between us – sing along at first
- Next, just use instruments
